We, The Citizens, now in our new home!

…Aaaaannnd we’re back in business!

As you’ll be able to see when you check out We, The Citizens’ new home on the web—https://wethecitizens.ghost.io—all the issues that were previously on Substack have been moved over. (Okay, almost everything; I deleted a few posts, such as threads for Milo Peng Funders, that were no longer working because that format was a specific Substack function.) Unfortunately, they don’t have their original timestamps, but the content has been preserved, and that’s the main thing.

A screencap of the new homepage for the We, The Citizens newsletter.
If you can't be bothered to click through to the website, here's what the page looks like!

I really have to say, the Ghost team was amazing throughout this process. They migrated everything they could for me, and gave me clear instructions to walk me through the process of doing everything else. It made the whole move very painless. Thanks to their work and advice, all your subscriptions should have ported over without a hitch, and you should still have the same access that you did when We, The Citizens was over on Substack. If you’re a free subscriber, you’ll not be able to access the issues reserved only for Milo Peng Funders; if you’re a Milo Peng Funder, you should be able to see everything!

If there are any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know, and I’ll make sure they get sorted as soon as possible. You should be able to just reply to this email, or you can reach me here.

I’ve been tinkering with the website, and have gone through the old issues and tagged them so you can now navigate old issues according to whether they are weekly wraps, special issues, guest issues, or announcements.

Over the next week I’ll be working on overhauling the overview on civil liberties in Singapore, which is in seriously need of rewriting and updating, and also making sure that a weekly wrap appears in your inbox on Saturday morning.

I'm so excited to be on this new platform! The only thing that would make it even better would be to pick up more subscribers, so please share this newsletter with your friends and family and (if you're the extroverted type) complete strangers you meet in public. 🙏🏼

I couldn't afford a full-on lion dance for this reopening, so this old photo from last year was the best I could come up with.
